Who Is This Telehandler Course For?

Course Objectives & Learning Outcomes

During this RTITB Telehandler Training course, candidates will learn to:

• Understand operator responsibilities under current health and safety legislation

• Identify the components and controls of a rough terrain telescopic handler

• Carry out pre-use inspections and report defects correctly

• Operate a telehandler safely on rough and uneven ground

• Manoeuvre with and without loads in open and confined spaces

• Stack and de-stack loads at various heights safely

• Assess load weight, size and stability before lifting

• Demonstrate correct parking, shutdown and securing procedures

J2 – Rough Terrain Variable Reach Lift Trucks (Up to 9m Lift)

Assessment & Certification

Assessment includes:

• RTITB written theory test

• Practical skills evaluation

• Safe load handling and machine control assessment

Successful candidates will receive RTITB Accredited Telehandler Certification, recognised across construction, plant hire and industrial sectors.

Entry Requirements

• Minimum age 18

• Good physical health

• Sufficient English literacy to complete written and practical assessments

• Suitable PPE (if attending on-site training)
